Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Plano , TX

ClearMind Psychiatry
TATENDA HOFISI, NP
Adult and Child Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

At ClearMind Psychiatry, I understand that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re feeling anxious, sad, or unsure of where to turn. I am Tatenda Hofisi, NP, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Texas providing in-person and telehealth psychiatry services for children (ages 6 and older), adolescents, and adults. I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders through thoughtful psychiatric evaluations and personalized medication management.

My approach to care is calm, compassionate, and collaborative. I take the time to truly listen so each patient feels heard, respected, and supported — never rushed or judged. Building strong, meaningful connections is central to my work, allowing us to create treatment plans that are realistic, effective, and focused on lasting emotional wellness.

My passion for mental health care is deeply personal. As someone who experienced depression as a teenager and now as a parent raising teenagers myself, I understand the emotional challenges individuals and families face at different stages of life. This lived experience shapes the patient-centered care I provide every day and strengthens my commitment to creating a safe, supportive space for healing.

Outside of the office, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our three children — two grown and one energetic one-year-old who keeps us on our toes. Whether you’re seeking child and adolescent psychiatry, adult medication management, or online psychiatry services in Texas, my goal at ClearMind Psychiatry is to help you feel clear, balanced, and confident in your care.

ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can affect focus, organization, impulse control, and emotional regulation in both children and adults. Symptoms may include difficulty concentrating, restlessness, forgetfulness, and challenges with time management. ADHD can impact school performance, work productivity, and daily routines. Understanding how ADHD affects the brain is often the first step toward building effective strategies and support.

Anxiety

Anxiety disorders can cause persistent worry, restlessness, physical tension, and difficulty sleeping. These symptoms may interfere with daily activities, relationships, and overall well-being. Some individuals experience panic attacks or heightened fear responses that feel overwhelming and unpredictable. Learning how anxiety impacts both the mind and body is an important step toward regaining a sense of calm and control.

Depression

Depression can affect mood, energy levels, motivation, and emotional connection. Common symptoms include ongoing sadness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep or appetite, and loss of interest in daily activities. Depression may develop gradually or appear suddenly following life changes or stress. Recognizing these patterns early can help guide effective treatment and long-term emotional support.

Mood Disorders

Mood disorders involve ongoing emotional shifts that may include periods of sadness, irritability, or changes in energy and motivation. These conditions can affect daily functioning, relationships, and overall emotional stability. Symptoms may vary in intensity and duration depending on the individual. Understanding emotional patterns is often the first step toward creating balance and improving long-term mental wellness.
